San Juan is the capital and largest city of Puerto Rico. As a cruising hot spot in the Caribbean, San Juan offers all of the amenities and attractions of a modern city. The city is divided into Old and New San Juan. Old San Juan dates back five centuries and is known for its colourful buildings and old forts, which once protected the island. Philipsburg is the capital of the overseas Dutch colony of St. Maarten. Boasting beautiful views of the Great Bay and the Great Salt Pond, it is an ideal location for a Caribbean holiday. On St. Maarten, there is adventure to be found throughout the beautiful island with snorkeling, swimming and horseback riding available. Philipsburg is also a hotspot for bargain hunters, with a mile-long commercial district with a range of duty-free shops. Located on the southern part of the Virgin Gorda island, Spanish town is the second largest town of the British Virgin Islands after Road Town which is located on Tortola and is the capital of the islands. There are many fishing competitions which take place here and the city is known for its fresh seafood.
