The harbor is an important area of the city today and houses many restaurants, museums, shopping malls and more. Museums include the Port Discovery Children's Museum and the Babe Ruth Museum. The city was home to the writer Egdar Allan Poe, whose house can be visited today. Baltimore is also known for having a vibrant music scene, jazz music is very popular in Baltimore.
