Miami, situated on the Atlantic coast in Southeast Florida, is the world's busiest cruise port. An array of world-famous beaches such as South Beach, which is known for its vibrant nightlife scene, continue to put the city on the map for cruise vacationers. Miami is home to many beautiful and lush national parks and botanical gardens, such as Biscayne National Park and the divine Pinecrest Gardens.

Great Stirrup Cay is a small sandbank island which counts as part of the Bahamas. It is characterized by long white beaches with not much vegetation due to the temperature. However, coconut palms still decorate the island and the crystal clear waters marry the white sand beaches perfectly.

Costa Maya is a Caribbean tourist area that stretches along the eastern Yucatan Peninsula. The region boasts gorgeous beaches and biosphere reserves with coral reefs, mangroves and jungles that house sharks, dolphins, turtles, jaguars, monkeys and many bird species. In addition to the picturesque landscapes, tourists can also visit the palaces and temples that the Maya peoples built here more than 1,500 years ago.

Santo Tomás de Castilla is located in eastern Guatemala and belongs to the city of Puerto Barrios. In the surrounding area of Santo Tomas, you will be able to visit a number of tourist attractions such as the Tikal or Copa Mayan Ruins.

The Central American port town of Belize City is divided into two halves by the Haulover Creek, which can be crossed via the manually operated Swing Bridge. In the northern half of the city, tourists can learn about the county's history at the Museum of Belize. The south side boasts colonial buildings, such as Saint John's Cathedral and the wooden Government House from the nineteenth century.

Roatán is a Caribbean Bay Island that floats about 60 kilometres north of mainland Honduras. The largest of the islands, it is famous for its white sand beaches and numerous snorkelling and diving sites. Together with its sister islands of Roatán, they make up the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest coral reef in the world, which is home to diverse marine life, such as whale sharks.

Puerto Limon is Costa Rica's biggest port city on the Caribbean coast. The city's port is very busy all year round, the ships are transporting truckloads of fruit and other goods. Although, cruise ships stop for a visit regularly between October and May, Puerto Limon is not as welcoming and pampering to its tourists as one would hope. However, if you are looking for a good base to explore the array of national parks around the city, you are in the right place.
