Portland is a deep-water seaport city located in Victoria, Australia, and is the oldest European settlement in this region. The city is full of history, with over 200 19th century buildings that are classified by the National Trust. Many of these are made of bluestone. If you visit Portland between June and August, you are likely to spot whales swimming just meters away from you in the port or the harbour. Come at any other time and learn all about the great creatures at the Portland Maritime Discovery Center.

Burnie is a city with an approximate population of 20,000 which lies in North-West Tasmania. Burnie is known as being a "town of makers". A trip to the Makers' Workshop is highly recommended, here visitors can expect to find a number of studios where local craftspeople demonstrate their unique skills. There is also a gift shop on site where visitors have the opportunity to purchase products produced locally in Tasmania. Visitors to Burnie can also enjoy a number of outdoor spots such as the popular Burnie Park.

Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, is a small port city located at the foot of Mount Wellington. Hobart is the second oldest city in Australia, having been originally founded in 1804 as a penal colony. A tour of the oldest brewery in Australia, Cascade brewery is highly recommended. During the Summer season Hobart hosts some fantastic festivals and events from The Taste of Tasmania food festival, to the Yacht Race from Sydney to Hobart. These events attract a big audience and create a great atmosphere throughout the port city.

Dusky Sound is a remote fiord located in New Zealand's Fiordland National Park, not far from Manapouri. The fiord is flanked mainly by lush greenery and imposing rocky outcrops. Dusky Sound is steeped in history, with Captain Cook having spent five weeks here in 1773. The explorer spent two months exploring the fiord extensively, charting its many arms and inlets, and marveling at the birdlife. Visitors can expect to find mountainous terrain with picturesque valleys and forests. Activities include fishing, kayaking and just simply taking in the breath-taking views.

Doubtful Sound is the second most popular tourist destination in New Zealand, after its sister, Milford Sound. The serene Doubtful Sound is the deepest fjord in Fiordland National Park at 421 metres deep and features numerous magical waterfalls, unusual flora and fauna and is famous for its eery silence. Manapouri is the base for excursions to Doubtful Sound. There are a number of ways for visitors to explore the beauty of the fiord, such as by taking a day or overnight cruise, scenic flight or by simply exploring it by kayak. Doubtful Sound provides the perfect opportunity to experience the beauty of New Zealand and the fiords.
