Puerto Quetzal is Guatemala's largest port on the Pacific Ocean. The southern part of Puerto Quetzal is particularly important for both freight and passenger transport. Craft and souvenir markets are situated right at the port. In the immediate vicinity, cruise passengers may also enjoy relaxing bars, a restaurant and performances from Marimba bands. Those who chose to take an inland tour may visit the city of La Antigua.

The town of Corinto is situated on a northwest Nicaraguan peninsula stretching into the Pacific. Visitors from the mainland will need to cross one of two bridges connected to the peninsula to reach Corinto. While there, the town's lighthouse is a point of interest, dating back to 1876. All goods imported to or exported from the west coast of Nicaragua go through Corinto as the town serves as the country's only Pacific port.
