The Mexican island of Cozumel, located in the Caribbean off the coast of the Yucatan peninsula, has a rich ancient history. Even today, visitors from all over the world flock to the island to observe the religious centre and temples that the Maya peoples built on the island centuries ago. Cozumel is also famous for its diving opportunities: Visitors can dive around beautiful coral reefs or to the Underwater Museum of Art.

The Panama Canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans together. Since the canals opening in 1914, this channel has become one of the most important waterways in the world, earning itself the title of one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Over 815,000 ships have traveled this canal in the last 100 years. The Peruvian capital Lima is also the largest city in the country. Together with the port city of Callao, it forms the so-called metropolitan area. Lima's historic centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990. With a mixture of Western influences and indigenous cultures, Lima has developed into a tourist destination not to be missed.
