The Peruvian capital Lima is also the largest city in the country. Together with the port city of Callao, it forms the so-called metropolitan area. Lima's historic centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990. With a mixture of Western influences and indigenous cultures, Lima has developed into a tourist destination not to be missed. Make sure not to miss the site of Pachacamac which is about 40 km south-east of Lima. This site dates back to A.D. 200 and was a religious site built before the Inca invasion of the area.

Guayaquil is home to one of the most important ports in Ecuador. A stroll through the city parks willl allow you to enjoy the sight of many exotic plants which flourish here thanks to tropical climate. If you decide to take a hike through the Cerro Blanco Nature Reserve prepare for lots of sand! This is the home ot the biggest sand dune in the world! Each year, the city attracts many action enthusiasts through its numerous sporting opportunities. Sandboarding is one of the most popular sports on offer. Alternatively, you can take a trip to the country estate which is normally comprised of several thousand acres and is managed by the locals.

The Panama Canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans together. Since the canals opening in 1914, this channel has become one of the most important waterways in the world, earning itself the title of one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Over 815,000 ships have traveled this canal in the last 100 years. Not only does the Panama Canal allow for passage between two of most immense oceans but it also provides great access to some of the most culture rich and vibrant destinations in Panama.

Cartagena was founded in 1533 and is located on the Caribbean coast in northern Colombia. The walled Old Town boasts some of the most beautiful colonial architecture in South America with cobblestones and colourful facades. It also happens to be one of the safest places in Columbia making it great for cruisers. Make sure not to miss the San Felipe de Barajas Castle and the Palace of the Inquisition.

The old town of Oranjestad will impress all visitors with its many colorful and ornate buildings, giving the Island a distinctly Caribbean feel, while also hinting at the Dutch influence through colonial architecture. Oranjestad's streets are lined with luxury retailers, diverse boutiques and jewelry stores. A scenic park lines the coastline of Ornajestad meaning you can enjoy the beautiful scenery. With a typical Caribbean feel, Oranjestad is a nightlife hotspot filled with restaurants, cafes, clubs, bars and casinos.

The city of Fort Lauderdale in the U.S. state of Florida and makes an ideal holiday destination. Due to the many canals in the city, Fort Lauderdale is also known as the American Venice. In the 1970's, the area was very popular with students celebrating Spring Break but these were replaced by cruise vacationers in recent years. Fort Lauderdale offers beautiful beaches, museums, the world's biggest everyday flea market and also the world's largest drive-in cinema, which has 13 screens.
