Itinerary

Antigua is an island in the West Indies in the Caribbean region and it is the main island of the country of Antigua and Barbuda. Antigua means "ancient" in Spanish and was named by Christopher Columbus. In 1784 Admiral Horatio Nelson sailed to Antigua where he found warm, steady winds, a coastline of safe harbours, and a protective coral reef: the perfect environment to establish Great Britain's most important Caribbean base. Over 200 years later the same characteristics that attracted the Royal Navy have transformed Antigua in one of the Caribbean's premier tourist destinations.

In the capital of St. Lucia, you will find one of the finest harbors in the West Indies. A large part of the islands exports of bananas, sugar cane, rum and syrup pass through Castries. The city was founded by the French, whose influence is felt today. The backdrop to the town is the mountain of Morne Fortune, which is an ever-present reminder of the natural beauty to be found all over the island if you venture away from the colourful buildings, markets and stores.

St. George's, the capital city of Grenada is a colourful and charming town based in a horseshoe-shaped harbour backed by lush volcanic hills. There is a real sense of history in St. George's, with forts lining the hills, colonial street names and buildings in the town, a reminder of the French and British presence in the past. A tour is the ideal way to discover St. George's, outlining the stories and tales of all the famous landmarks. The natural beauty of the island is also waiting to be discovered with an eco tour or scubadiving trip.

Bridgetown is the island's largest city and is a vibrant and historic cultural gem. The city was founded by the British, meaning there is a terrific mix of old and new on the island with historic British colonial buildings alongside modern structures such as shopping centres and financial institutions. Always a lively city, there is a large amount of shopping, dining and cultural experiences to discover. Street vendors provide colour and character to the streets and the local bars and restaurants are the perfect way to immerse yourself in the Caribbean culture.
