Tema is the most important port city of Ghana and and comprises of approximately 300,000 inhabitants. Located about 25 kilometers from the capital city of Accra, it is connected to it via rail and road networks.

Takoradi is the fourth most populated city in Ghana, located in the Western Region of the country. Takoradi, together with another city called Sekondi is part of a twin city arrangement - Sekondi-Takoradi, which is the capital of the region around it. Ever since being chosen as Ghana's first deep-water port, Takoradi has been continuously developing and growing. There are two separate areas in the city: the beautifully serene beach with hotels and restaurants and its complete opposite - the loud and crowded city centre.

Porto Novo - "new harbour" in English, is a city on the Cape Verdean island of Santo Antao. The city is located on the south coast of the island and is now the biggest settlement on it. There are two ferries that carry passengers from Mindelo on Sao Vicente to Porto Novo. This is a great way to spot flying fish and dolphins that the waters surrounding the island are full of. Porto Novo is a great base for those wanting to hike the towering mountains, picturesque little villages and agricultural terraces of the island.
