Bridgetown is the island's largest city and is a vibrant and historic cultural gem. Gustavia is the capital of the French island of St. Barthelemy. The city is divided into Old and New San Juan. Old San Juan dates back five centuries and is known for its colourful buildings and old forts, which once protected the island. El Morro is a well-known fort that now houses a small military museum. Located in the Atlantic, Grand Turk Island is a part of the British Turks and Caicos Islands and the largest island of the Turk Islands. The capital of the archipelago is Cockburn Town, located on Grand Turk Island. The island is considered the archipelago's cultural, administrative and financial centre.
