Tema is the most important port city of Ghana and and comprises of approximately 300,000 inhabitants. Located about 25 kilometers from the capital city of Accra, it is connected to it via rail and road networks.

Abidjan is the largest city of the Ivory Coast and up until 1983 was the national capital.

The city of Banjul is on the sandbar island called St. Mary's Iceland and is the capital of Gambia. At the time of British colonial rule, a fort and the Emplacement Six-Gun Battery was built to contain the slave trade. Six-Gun Battery 203 was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
