Local authorities in Venice have introduced a new access fee for tourists spending the day in Venice. From 8:30 to 16:00 daily, visitors entering Venice are required to pay €5 before entry. This fee is applicable to all visitors except for specific exempt categories, which include:
– Embarking/Disembarking cruise line guests joining the cruise on embarkation and disembarkation day.
– Tourists spending the night in Venice, Marghera, or Mestre.
– Children aged 14 or younger.
To facilitate this process, visitors must obtain a QR code that serves as proof of payment or exemption. Failure to provide this QR code upon request by local authorities may result in a fine ranging from €50 to €300.
For those who are required to pay the access fee, please visit Venice Entry Registration to register, pay, and obtain your QR code before entering the city.
If you are exempt from the fee, you still need to obtain a QR code. Please visit Exemption Registration to acquire your QR code.
